With support from the Flexible New Deal programme, Mark is able to work towards his dream of becoming a police officer and support his son at the same time.

Background: Mark is 20 and has an eight-month-old son. He had been out of work for over a year when he came to Flexible New Deal. His dream job was to work in security and to ultimately become a police officer.

He had tried warehouse work but it wasn't what he wanted to do, so he struggled to keep the job. At JHP he attended confidence building sessions and job search days. He found a job as a security officer which he loves. Mark enjoys working, has a fantastically positive attitude and hopes that one day he'll be a police officer.
